Earning and Redeeming Miles

Your miles go further with SkyTeam. When you belong to a SkyTeam Member airline’s frequent flyer program, you can earn and redeem your miles on all carriers in the SkyTeam alliance through that single account. Earning Miles

If you are already part of a SkyTeam Member airline’s frequent flyer program, then you are set to earn miles when you travel on most SkyTeam-operated flights.¹ Even on short flights, you will earn a minimum of 500 miles on each SkyTeam Member airline flight.

Simply provide your frequent flyer number each time you travel to ensure that your miles are credited to your frequent flyer program account.
To earn the most mileage, all miles earned should be credited to a single account with a SkyTeam Member airline.

Redeeming Miles

Rewarding yourself should not be complicated. As a member of a SkyTeam airline’s frequent flyer program, you can easily redeem your miles for an award ticket on any SkyTeam-operated flight worldwide.

Only one reservation is required, regardless of the SkyTeam airline you travel on or if multiple airlines are in your itinerary.
You can use your miles towards special SkyTeam passes. Redeem miles for an “Around the World” award pass that allows travel on any combination of SkyTeam-operated flights to circumnavigate the world.

SkyTeam Mileage Upgrades

Now as a SkyTeam Frequent Flyer, you may use your miles to upgrade to Business Class on international flight itineraries on most of the SkyTeam Member airlines (Alitalia is not participating in the program at this time).

Follow these three simple steps to confirm your upgrade:

1. Purchase an international, published, full fare Economy Class reservation on any SkyTeam member airline. The flight must be marketed and operated by the same SkyTeam carrier, as code-share flights are not permitted.

2. Call the award reservation line of your frequent flyer program where the miles will be deducted. The agent will verify eligibility and confirm the upgrade if seats are available.

3. Relax and arrive at the airport ready to enjoy the benefits of your upgrade including an additional luggage allowance, priority services and lounge access.
